To Compare is to Despair
Do a check in on your thoughts: When you are browsing through Facebook, take a moment to pause and notice what your thoughts are.
Are you comparing your looks, your successes (or “lack of”), your popularity to others etc. ? And if so, begin to notice what emotions come up for you with these thoughts. If you are having thoughts of “lack” or “not good enough”, feel into that energy that that thought brings up in your body. With this awareness, decide whether that energy serves you or not (I’ll take a wild guess that it doesn’t).
Choose to hold onto thoughts of “I am enough, I have enough, I do enough” while you browse social media or choose to be very selective about how much time and which sites that you are browsing.
Being selective and making conscious choices in this realm is an act of kindness to yourself.
