‘Soul Speak’ – Are You Listening?
Dear Awesome Woman,
‘Soul Speak.’ Curious term, right? What is it?
It’s actually a term I coined that felt more specifically defined than intuition. But they’re the same thing and at times, I’ll switch them up – intuition, soul wisdom,”soul guidance, inner wisdom or ‘Soul Speak.’
All these terms refer to the communication method of that elusive part of us – the soul.
Now, everyone has their own way of defining the soul. I’m a Chassidic Jew so I follow the Jewish Kabbalistic way of defining mine, but no matter how you choose to define yours, there’s a somewhat easy way to know when it’s communicating to you.
And that’s through how it feels in your body. ‘Soul Speak’ feels neutral in your body. You’ll internally ‘hear’ it as a word, a short phrase, an image in your mind’s eye, a sensing or even as a synchronicity in the outside world.
There’s no emotional drama around it, no emotional charge. Just neutrality.
What can be tricky about this is that your mind may not like the ‘Soul Speak’ message it’s receiving. When that happens, an ‘argument’ may ensue in your mind, but the intuitive message received, for a quick moment in time, felt neutral in your body.
Let’s try it.
Think a thought – perhaps a scary one – “oh, no! The dye I used on my hair made it bright green instead of the brown it said on the package.” What does that thought make you feel in your body? A bit panicked? Your stomach dropped, your chest constricted? That’s what a thought may feel like in the body – there’s a physical sensation of an emotion – fear, sadness, anger etc.
A ‘Soul Speak’ message, on the other hand, may sound like the one I received recently: “Share with confidence, but not with blatantness.” You see the difference? This message was informative, straightforward and used a word that I don’t commonly use – ‘blatantness.’ It felt neutral in my body, free of emotion. When I heard it, I just said ‘oh.’
I know this topic is a bit strange to talk about, but I’ve seen over and over again how my clients benefit from their ‘Soul Speak.’ They experience both emotional and physical relief from the messages and guidance they receive. Their body relaxes and their mind opens up to possibilities that weren’t available to them before we tapped into their inner wisdom.
Your soul is a guiding light in the often turbulent waters of life. It offers direction, encouragement and sometimes even warnings.
When I started tuning into my ‘Soul Speak,’ my life changed remarkably. I paid attention to the messages and guidance it shared with me and today, I have healthier relationships, a fulfilling career and an energy and vitality that I hadn’t experienced before.
One thing that helped me increase my awareness of it was to journal. I wrote down what I heard and what I saw, either in the world as divine providence/sychronicity or images in my mind’s eye. My ability to receive the ‘Soul Speak’ increased as I paid attention to it.
Today, I invite you to go on a similar journey as I did. Journal the ‘Soul Speak’ you’re hearing. Put your attention on it and allow that spiritual channel to open even more.
Your soul has a lot to say.
