Delightful and Satisfied Enough
Mindbody Wellness Clarity Tip:
Delightful and Satisfied Enough
Dear Awesome Woman,
In this go, go, go society, we can often forget the joy of just being alive, of just noticing satisfied moments in time. It could be having the conscious awareness that something has delighted our senses—an orange butterfly crossing our path, a whizzing dragonfly zooming above our heads, a bright pink flower with a thousand different hues catching our eye. It could be the sour zest of a clementine, the sweet, dark taste of chocolate, the soft cotton comfort of the shirt we chose for the day.
These are opportunities to stop the rat race in our minds, the ego notion that there is still so much to do, that there are tasks that are not yet finished, that there are situations not living up to our expectations. We can consciously choose to break the perpetual human habit of lack-thinking, the insidious ‘not enough’ syndrome that is brought to us on a daily basis through the advertisements, through our own ‘compare and despair’ tendencies, through our childhood based subconscious fears and ego self.
It behooves us to make a conscious effort and jump out of society’s sprint and media’s influx of always needing more—more things and more relationships, more money, and more time— the ‘not enoughness’ that we encounter all around us, and for us to make space for noticing that we can be delighted. And then satisfied. We can create a habit of declaring throughout the day “This moment in time is delightful. I am satisfied.”
So I invite you, today, to sprinkle those two words into your vocabulary: delightful and satisfied. Or use other words that work for you. The key is to drop into moments of peace, serenity, enoughness— a kind of settling of the soul. Even if it only lasts a minute in time, those minutes and conscious awarenesses add up.
“It is delightful to witness the sky, the incredible blue, the whisky clouds. I am satisfied.”
“It is delightful to feel the comfort of cotton, the choice of clothes I made today. I am satisfied.”
“It is delightful to hear my friend’s voice, my child’s laughter, my co-worker’s helpful tip. I am satisfied.”
“It is delightful, the food I’m eating. I am satisfied.”
When you turn off the kitchen light (with dishes in the sink) and crawl into bed, try saying to yourself “I am satisfied, it was a good day of enough.”
And of course, if there are uncomfortable feelings to be felt, then please do that. As humans, in an ever-changing environment, we are not meant to stuff any emotions down. For example, anxiety is just a coverup for three very important emotions. In the ANXIETY BLASTER class, we’ll dive into them and discover the wisdom they hold for us in setting boundaries, keeping us safe, discerning energy and creating better health and joy for our bodies and souls.
