Two Quick and Easy Stress Relievers for Busy Women
Dear Awesome Woman,
I was fortunate to publish two pieces of Mindbody/Somatic wellness wisdom in ‘Thrive Global’. These were tips for easy stress relief and I would like to share them with you. My hope is that with a few tweaks in the way you go about your day, you can prevent unnecessary pain symptoms in your body and feel lighter and freer.

1)Prevent Burnout:

“When I over-focus on a perceived goal, I’ll miss the subtle signs of tension that my body sends me. I’ll work too long, too hard, and without healthy boundaries. The internal pressure builds, and mindbody pain results in a headache, leg pain or neck pain. To prevent this, I keep a timer on my desk and every 11 minutes it beeps to remind me to take a few conscious breaths and check in with my body. Do I need to accomplish what I’m aiming for now, or can I do it in bite sized chunks? Some now, some tomorrow?”

2) A Quick Stress Reliever and it’s not what you ‘think’:
Tap into your body’s reaction
“To relieve stress, I look within and notice if the stress is coming from fear, anger, frustration, disappointment, overwhelm. The answer is revealed to me by the sensation in my body. If my stomach is jumping, that may indicate fear. If my jaw is clenched, that may indicate anger. I spend ten seconds on noticing and being with the physical sensation.”
