Transition is an Opportunity to Be Kind to Yourself
Mindbody Wellness Clarity Tips
Dear Awesome Woman,
Now that summer is slowly coming to an end and transitions of weather, circumstances (schools for kids, and perhaps job changes), and seasons are happening, it is an opportune time for you to be kind to yourself. Life is everchanging—just like flowers change on a daily basis, so do our cells, our relationships, our moods, our emotions, and our needs. I encourage you to take the time to pause, reflect, breathe and savor pleasurable moments.
Stare at a flower for a long minute, feel the breeze on your skin, notice a bird in flight or the clouds in the sky. I love to take mindful moments to notice a hummingbird at my feeders, butterflies on the flowers and large dragonflies zooming around. Sprinkling in moments of delight and wonder help me go about my day with more kindness to myself and my body.
I also encourage you to not put undue pressure on yourself.
For example, my daughter and I returned from a trip the night before her school started. It was late and we both knew that getting all the school supplies and books ready would not be happening. Though we are both in general very responsible and not the “wing-it” types, we relaxed into knowing that she would not have everything she needed for that first day. And that it would be ok.
And it was.
Mindbody symptoms such as vertigo, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, back pain, stomach pain, and even fibromyalgia can be caused by intense self-pressure, over responsibility and stuck resentment. I know that this is a strange question, but where can you drop the ball a bit? Where can you let go and release “shoulding” yourself? Where can you choose to bag, barter, or better things? I invite you to read my article ”Be a Warrior For Your Health—Two Simple Tips” to understand those terms.

“I began working with Miriam after several years of extreme stress and trauma due, among other things, to the prolonged illness of my mother. The grief, stress and other toxic emotions that these situations naturally generated were keeping me from moving forward in my business. In addition, the frustration of feeling so deeply stuck was affecting my relationships, my energy levels and sense of well-being, and more. The sessions Miriam and I did together were healing and illuminating, interesting and uplifting. They took me deep into my intuition, gave me profound insights into some of the underlying limiting emotions and beliefs that were holding me back, allowed me reframe many of the things that were in my way and in some cases to actually energetically move them aside.
After our work together, I was able to create an extremely successful program, and with far more ease than I would have expected. I have since recommended several people to Miriam, and would unequivocally do so for anyone who is interested in Mindbody coaching.” – Shifra Hendrie
