Showing Up For Yourself—Words to Inspire
God Said What?! #MyOrthodoxLife
Dear Awesome Person,
Hope that you have been well!
Lots has been happening for God Said What?! #MyOrthodoxLife!
I’ve been the guest speaker on a few podcasts where I discuss the book as well as answer questions about my specialty, Mindbody/Somatic Healing. You can check them out here:
Interview: A Somatic Approach to Healing: Atheist Turned Orthodox Jew Miriam Racquel (Meryl) Feldman, on Trusting Your Intuition. From the Inside Out: With Rivkah Krinsky and Eda Schottenstein, June 2022.
Life’s Best Medicine Podcast with Brian Lenzkes, MD, Episode 93: Dovid and Miriam Feldman, May 2022.
Podcast Interview—Dating Relationships and Jewish Mysticism, Jewish Singles Radio, April 2022.
I’ve also been busy getting God Said What?! into the hands of film producers. Because of the storyline, I’m confident that it would bring a lot of joy to people if made into a short series. Perseverance and patience are key in this process so I’ll let you know the good news in the future, G-d willing. As someone of faith, I know that G-d has a plan and I need to do my effort—we’re collaborators together.
I’m continuing to hear beautiful feedback from readers around the world. Just the other day, a woman from Kolkata, India emailed this message: “I just finished your book ‘GOD Said What?’ Thank you for doing what you are doing to this community and world.”
Whoo hoo! The book is having an impact of bringing blessings and goodness to others 🙂
On Facebook, I like to post daily messages of healing, hope, spirituality, and mindfulness. I go according to the Jewish calendar, which goes by the moon instead of the sun. This Jewish month of Tammuz, I’m claiming as the month of empowerment. It can be a dark month in terms of Jewish history but also a month of redemption. In the Lubavitch Chasidic tradition, the Frierdiker Rebbe was granted freedom from the Communists in 1927.
So in the spirit of empowerment, I shared this thought in a recent post:
“Empowerment is … showing up for yourself. When I decided to write my book — the journey from being a hippy, secular, liberal college grad to an observant Orthodox Jew—I never thought it would take me 8 years, 3 editors, lots of money, a bunch of pauses, and many emotional and production challenges. But just like the memoir had me looking back in time and noticing that each moment of fate, though sometimes confusing, dark and painful, had purpose. And purpose on this planet makes us tick.
I really had to show up for myself, go out of my comfort zone many times over and coach and celebrate myself throughout the journey. That’s how I accomplished what I set my mind to.
And I’m grateful that I did because it’s bringing beautiful meaning to others. Each piece of feedback and wonderful Amazon review makes my heart sing: “This was an incredible book about the author’s amazing journey of life, marriage and connection. Anyone can learn and grow from Miriam Raquel’s story. One will be able to laugh, cry and enjoy! Happy reading.” – Glus
Thank you to those who are posting Amazon reviews and to those sharing by word of mouth. I’m glad that we are on this journey together 🙂
When we show up for ourselves we never know whose soul we will touch.”
So, whose soul are you touching today? Are you showing up for yourself? Are you intending something that brings you joy and then taking mini steps to get there? I hope so! The world needs your efforts 🙂
