Happy Chanukah! The Festival of Light
God Said What?! Words of Inspiration
Dear Awesome Reader,
Happy Festival of Lights!
For those who may not know of the story of Chanukah:
The Jewish holiday of Chanukah started Sunday night and lasts for 8 days. It commemorates the victory of the Jewish soul. In the 2nd century BCE, the Syrian-Greeks tried to force the Jews of Israel to accept the Greek gods and culture and abandon their belief in their G-d and the Torah.
A small group of Jews, the Maccabees, said, “No way!”, got their brave on and miraculously defeated one of the mightiest armies on earth. They drove the enemy from their land and reclaimed the 2nd Bais Hamikdash (Holy Temple) in Jerusalem.
After the war, the Maccabees lit the Menorah in the Temple with a cruse of oil that was only enough to burn for one day, yet miraculously burnt for eight—hence—Chanukah is celebrated for eight days to commemorate this miracle of oil.
As the Previous Rebbe of Lubavitch said “We must listen carefully to what the candles are saying.” Never be afraid to stand up for your soul.
Some news that is wonderful to share—God Said What?! went to #1 Bestseller in Women & Judaism this month! When it first was published, it ranked as #1 New Release in Women & Judaism and Kabbalah & Mysticism. This is the first time it hit #1 Bestseller and it was inspiring to see the book reaching more people. I am grateful.
I did a class for a wonderful Nishmat group run by Naomi Greenberg. You may enjoy what I shared: Nishmat, December 8th, 2022.
This coming year, there are good things on the horizon for God Said What?! I’m actually working on a script version with a professional and hope to get it into the hands of a few producers that already have the book. Screenwriting is very different from book writing so it’s been an interesting challenge for sure. I have faith in the future and so I continue to test the barriers and dissolve limits to reach my goal of bringing hope, humor and the message of light and purpose to others.
For those who celebrate Chanukah, may you enjoy and sit by the candles to receive the beautiful light. Happy holidays to all and may we all increase in acts of goodness and kindness. Amen.
If you’re able to leave a positive word on Amazon, it’s greatly appreciated to write simply: “ I loved the book, great read!” That’s plenty enough. Because we live in a world of numbers and algorithms, it helps the book get circulated if there are a certain # of reviews. Thank you so much!
To write a review from your computer – just be in your Amazon account, go to the book itself, click on ratings, then in the left hand corner of the ratings page is a place to click on “write a review.”
From a phone, it’s as easy as:
Be in your account and book, go to ratings, and the arrow on the right brings you to the Customer Reviews and there it is 🙂
Feel free to forward to friends and share revealed light.
God Said What?! #MyOrthodoxLife makes a great gift for the holidays! It brings love, laughter, meaning and blessings along its journey.
